( A Really Sick Story )
Title: And the Water, Like Glass
Author:
geonncannon
Fandom: Sanctuary
Pairing: Helen/m, Helen/Molly Brown
Word Count: 13,882
Category: Drama
Spoilers: Slight for Next Tuesday
Disclaimer: The characters and even some of the situations don't belong to me. Everyone in this story is fictional. Even the people who have familiar names are fictionalized versions of real people with the same names.
Rating: NC17
Author's Notes: I wanted to write this story since Helen's comment in Next Tuesday. I also decided that since people (and the show) have no issues with using Nikola Tesla, and throwing around names of real people, then I shouldn't worry about writing people who have been dead for more than half a century. I mean... they're fictionalized versions of the real people. That's perfectly acceptable. I think. Anyway. ~g~
Summary: Helen Magnus boards the RMS Titanic transporting an abnormal.
Title: To Strike the Sun

geonncannon

Disclaimer: Neither character belongs to me, even a little bit!
Rating: NC17
Written for:
oparu for the Sanctuary Secret Santa. Hope you like! The title is a quote from Moby-Dick by Herman Melville.
Author's Notes: The dinner scene may be close to a similar scene I wrote in "Sabbatical." It can't be helped, but I apologize for the similarities. ;-D
Summary: Agent Scully faces down her personal white whale.

I saw this today with my brother. Here are a few spoilery thoughts on the matter.
( LJ Cut because I'm nice like that )
Unless you've been living under a rock these past few weeks, you'll have noticed that reviews of the best and worst moments, films, albums, novels of the past decade have invaded the newspapers and magazines. Because I am highly unoriginal, I decided to make my own contribution.
( CGs Best and Worst of the Noughties )
No, that is not a typo. I really did make eighty icons from this episode. No, you're not mistaken, it wasn't a double-length episode. 43 minutes, as always. Something about Helen, and then the added fun of Tesla running around, and I went a little cap-happy. So after hours of work, I present you with 80 icons from Sanctuary 2x10, Sleepers. Well, technically 78 icons. The other two are from the next episode, which I had to icon as soon as possible. Three weeks. How can I wait three weeks to see that?! Sigh. Anyway.
Eighty icons! The same rules as always: want, take, comment, have. If you prefer one without text, let me know and I'll see if I managed to save it. Or I can always make you a new version without text. Either way!
Enjoy! :D
Sierra and Victor seriously make me so happy. They're the best couple and every scene with them seems to be golden. I always end up having a mental awww moment when they're together. It makes me fear that eventually Joss will ruin them with misery as he does with everything he touches in the long run. They're just too perfect, you know? He has to destroy them. It's his way.
But in other Dollhouse opinions, lets go to the LJ Cut!

ETA: Nine left!
So, the Sanctuary Fanmix I posted yesterday has been getting a lot of good feedback! I'm pleased with that. But the shocking part... I found a comment in my inbox this morning from an LJ user named
etarlis. That's the name of Mermaid Kiss' most recent album. So I clicked, and... it was the band's guitarist. Commenting on my fanmix. O.o
Fortunately, he was intrigued by the music I used and by the idea of Sanctuary (his comment was in the
sanctuaryforall community). He also mentioned we could start a campaign to get some of the music used in the actual show, which I think is a winning idea. ;-D Anyone want to slip a copy to Amanda at the next convention?
So, anyway, thanks for the comment,
etarlis, and I hope you enjoy Sanctuary! And I hope you enjoy being on my friend-list. ;-D
I just watched this movie last night and holy shit, it's more traumatizing than Watership Down and that scares the living crap out of me. Just because I'm twisted like that I have to link clips of the most fucked up scenes in the movie. The easiest thing to explain how fucked up this movie is would be just explaining the plot itself.
Plague Dogs is about two dogs escape from a laboratory and are hunted as possible carriers of the bubonic plague. Yeahhhhhh. As someone who loves her dogs dearly this movie made me sniffle.
( LJ Cut for traumatizing oh noes, cute doggies why )
There's a first time for everything, and this is one. Well, two, actually if you count my first-ever file put on Megaupload! Actually three, my first time ever downloading music off YouTube videos. But I just couldn't let this idea go. I started putting it together on a "If I was going to make a fanmix..." basis, and then I got enough songs and I said, "Well, if I did that, I'll have to have them in a good order." And then I needed cover art, so I played around with that and came up with one I really loved. So bing, bang, boom, I've got a fanmix.
It's specifically for Helen Magnus, but there are a few songs that deal with her relationships with others, abnormals, and her home. There are a lot of songs from a band called "Mermaid Kiss," and I think you'll see why when you investigate the lyrics and the songs I chose. They fit Sanctuary almost perfectly in some cases (other cases you have to squint, but still. :D). I included some other Helen/Sanctuary songs just for variety.
So, I hope this works... I've never put together a fanmix before. But I listened to it, and I enjoy it. So I hope the rest of you do, too.

Sorry, folks, no story today. ~g~ But I do come with gifts, of a sort.
lilferret made me a Helen banner for Christmas! I linked it rather than just posting it because it's too wide for my LJ. I don't know where I'm going to put it yet! I think it deserves a place of honor on my profile since my LJ doesn't have a place for banners. But it's one of my favorite scenes/Helen-outfits for Season 2, I just love this banner so much I wanted to share and be sure people saw it. :D
